30 December 2011:In the end of 2011, Suntrix successfully
completed 700 KW High Concentrated Photovoltaic power station in
Golmud, Qinghai province, and had been accepted by the owner-GD
solar. The project consists of 63 T48-SCPV 500 systems with
the total capacity of 700 KW and the efficiency of 28%.
Golmud has a cold arid climate, with long, cold winters, and
warm summers. Precipitation is very low, totalling only 41.5
millimetres per annum. Relative humidity averages only 32%, and due
to this aridity, the area is one of the sunniest in China, with
nearly 3358 hours of sunshine per year. Besides, Golmud has a large
area of Gobi Desert which makes it suitable for constructing large
scale HCPV power stations.
After the announcement of on-grid power
tariff policy by National Development and Reform Commission in
August, West China is becoming a hot area for constructing PV
stations. Only projects launched in West China with abundant light
resources can get appropriate profit with 1RMB on-grid power
tariff. As a milestone, the 700 KW HCPV power station can not only
bring profit, but also become an important step in China HCPV
development history. Predictably, HCPV will greatly expand it's
markets in China after the signature project.
